- Check in-game region/server assignment: Verify whether the VPN changes which servers you connect to or how matchmaking behaves.
- Monitor stability over time: A connection that starts fine but degrades after 10–20 minutes indicates route instability rather than just initial setup.
If you see worse jitter or more disconnects with the VPN enabled, that’s a strong sign the VPN route isn’t favorable for your specific game traffic.
