Anonymity can be challenged by many sources of identification, such as your IP address, account logins, browser behavior, device fingerprints, and mistakes like sharing personal data. The exact threats vary by context (browsing a news site, using a web app, or downloading software), which is why a single tool rarely solves everything.

Why anonymity matters in everyday online activity
